In November 2025, Bloomington Police carried out a month-long undercover operation targeting individuals attempting to solicit minors online. Sixteen suspects were arrested as part of the sting. During a public briefing, Chief Booker Hodges held a photo of one arrested individual and stated that the person was an ICE employee.
The arrested ICE employee reportedly attempted to use his federal position as leverage during arrest, saying “I’m ICE, boys,” according to the police chief’s account.
Bloomington Police did not publicly identify the individual by name during the briefing. ICE has not issued a public statement at the time of documentation.
