ICE List Wiki:Tagging media

From ICE List Wiki

Tagging media. Every item in the Media table can be tagged so it surfaces automatically in the right places. Good tags are what make the archive searchable.

The fields

Field What to put Effect
incidents Incident page name(s), separated by ; Item auto-appears on each incident page (via {{MediaForIncident}})
agents Agent page name(s), separated by ; Item auto-appears on each agent page (via {{MediaForAgent}})
state One state name Filterable in Special:Drilldown/Media
agency ICE, CBP, HSI, ERO, DHS... Filterable
status Verified / Unverified / Pending Verified items are trusted; unverified need review

Use ; not , to separate multiple agents or incidents - many page names contain commas ("Surname, First"), so a comma would split one name into two. Example:

| agents = Garvey, Sean; Doe, Jane
| incidents = 2026-01-14 Minneapolis courthouse arrest

How to tag

  1. Open the media item's page (or a page using {{Media}}).
  2. Use the Tag media panel at the top (volunteers only), or edit the wikitext and fill in agents, incidents, state, agency.
  3. Set status = Verified once you have confirmed it.
  4. Save. The item immediately appears on the tagged agent/incident pages and in the filters.
